The Samsung Galaxy S III is a multi-touch, slate-format smartphone running the Android operating system. Samsung Company unveiled the S III on May 3, 2012. The device was released in 28 European and Middle Eastern countries on May 29, 2012. Prior to release for this unit, 9 million pre-orders were placed by more than 100 carriers globally. Within the first 100 days of release Samsung sold more than 20 Million units of the Samsung Galaxy S III.
The Operating System for Samsung Galaxy S III is Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and had been upgraded to Jelly Bean on September 2012. Samsung Galaxy S III has 1.4GHz quad-core
Cortex-A9 (international, AU, and KR versions) and 1.5GHz dual-core Krait (NA and JP versions). The RAM for this phone is 1GB for international version and 2GB for selected markets only.
The storage capacities for this phone are 16 and 32 GB and removable storage or expandable up to 64 GB using microSDXc. The phone enables video calling with its 1.9MP front-facing camera, zero shutter tag and HD Video (720p) at 30 frames. Super amoled capacitive touchscreen, 8 MP camera. The Galaxy measuring 136.6 mm (5.38 inches) long, 70.7 mm (2.78 inches) wide, and 8.6 mm (0.43 inches) thick and weighing 133 grams.
The Samsung Galaxy S III has come with pre-installed application like Youtube, Google+, Voice Search, Google Play, Gmail, Map and Calendar.
Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S III can access and play traditional media formats such as music, TV programmes, podcasts, audiobooks and movies. Your media library can be sorted alphabetically by song title, playlist, album, folder and genre. Music Square is one notable feature for this phone.
According to Samsung that the Samsung Galaxy S III was the first smartphone to support Voice OVer LTE with the introduction of HD Voice service in South Korea.
